that is a roosevelt elk . There are a few kind.. they taste damn good on the grill..

It's allllllll in how you prepare it and how you cook it. Unless you like the wild taste of Elk, moose or deer, you can't really cook it like you would any other meat. There are techniques to it..... and once you've had a properly prepared deer roast (with that deer gravy)... or strips of lean moose meat that has been marinated to perfection and then done on the barbecue..... or a nice elk steak done just right..... well, you simply haven't lived yet.Originally posted by Mike33

I'll give these meats a try again but with somebody who knows how to prepare them
