I'm pretty concerned about the downtime that epoch gets with the dos attacks, and then it seems that sales are low for several days afterwards. I'm not the only person that has noticed this either.

What is Epoch doing to prevent this in the future? Definately is a major concern, even with the $750 fee waived.

Nobody likes to get slammed with a DOS attack. Look at World Pay today.

We have our systems in place now such that we should be able to fend off all future attacks.

Exactly! And what about college girls or single moms on a limited budget that want to start up a site? $750 is a month's rent and some bills! Not having the VISA fee to spare does not automatically make someone dishonest or unable to run a site and it drives me nuts to see people talk about "if you can't afford the VISA fee, you shouldn't open a paysite." Some of pretty big sponsors probably started out years ago on a shoestring budget. :)

MissMiranda 10-06-2004 02:50 AM

I agree with you tootie, Since I am just running an amature site with myself on it this would be very hard to come up with.

Great promo. Any extension in the offing?

rewn 10-11-2004 09:30 PM

Nice

I tried to signup with EPOCH about 9 months ago, but couldn't get a US principle ( I'm in Australia ).

So i went with cardsgate who have utterly fucked me around and owe me more than 10K.

In the last week i've got a US principle so i think i'll apply for this.

Epoch guys, does Anthony W still work there ?

edit: damn US date format, thought i had a week left

Taboo 10-12-2004 07:42 AM

will you be extending this offer?

keyboard warrior 10-12-2004 08:24 AM

1 week only! cant you read or are you lazy.

I'm here to do business, so get out of my way. myob.

I've also sent quite a few icqs to Isabel the past few days, haven't heard back yet. She must be busy, or off for the weekends

Isabel :)

Taboo 10-12-2004 11:43 AM

keyboard warrior, are you bitter because no one wanted to buy your domains? it's pitiful that you're so concerned with everyone else's business. I don't have time for your fake drama.

Looks liek I missed the boat... just spoke to Epoch and they said it was only for IBill customers moving over to them or from another billing company willing to use as primary...

Alas I was going to have as secondary and see how it went... guess I will just have to wait till they do a good deal again !

I thought it was a lot more then that, well at least it seem like it.

keyboard warrior 10-12-2004 08:15 PM

there contract is like 40+ pages.

uno 10-12-2004 08:22 PM

Just sent an email. I hope asking about the promotion before it expires is good enough rather than having the contracts signed before it runs out.

That's a total bummer! I too was under the impression it was open to anyone. Knew a lot of folks that were planning to use them as backup also.

based on their initial offer, they sure made it seem like it was available to everyone. perhaps they changed their mind at last minute. unfortunate.
