OH MY GOD! You're right!!!! Surfers are so damn smart they should KNOW when they're going to get an autogenerated response that they need INSTEAD of all the spam they don't want. I bet those crafty sons of guns sit around all day looking for confirmation emails. Let's hope I can find my way to the 405 this morning, I sure seem to be real blonde. |
Well this program seems cool to me and anything that cuts down on spam is OK in my book i am buying it to-day Thanks

BUT! You can authorize e-mails that weren't verified by the sender so you still get automated messages you DO want to receive. I've told this over and over and the SpamArrest states this in their FAQ too. I receive every single sponsor e-mail I want and if your theory would be right I would receive none. If people would only read! edit: taken from the FAQ area on SpamArrest.com: "Does Spam Arrest work with automated emails? Yes! You are able to approve/block automated senders in the Unverified Mail folder. If you receive an email from an automated address (like [email protected]), simply approve it once, and all future emails from that address will automatically be passed through to your inbox." |

You say some really fucking stupid things sometimes. Surfers that use spam arrest are obviously a little more educated than the average surfer. I don't know about you, but I read how things like "spam arrest" work before signing up or paying for them. I would be willing to be that ALL of them know how to check their "unverified messages" box. You really should educated yourself before lodging your foot in your mouth. |

Oh and about your other reply to my post: 1. Kimmykim says what the disadvantages are of people using (or people selling) anti spam products and has a very good point. 2. you make a post on how satisfied you are with the software Point 2 is SO irrelevant. It's great that you are happy and all (why would you post that??), but the "bugs" are really important for our industry. |

if you use a product like SpamArrest you're bound to know these things plus upon login you get forwarded to the unverified folder instantly. That was my point and it is totally on target towards what KK said. |

This should be read over and over and over again. And then read once more... |

if you don't like the system don't use it but don't hate on it. After all the cause of all this is the huge amount of SPAM sent everyday and that is not the fault of any of these e-mail companies nor their users. |

If you think the average surfer knows enough to look for an email from the processor, you're living in dreamland. The average surfer doesn't even realize what a processor is. |
This thread is bullshit both ways.
Processors/sponsors etc...can't build an automated script to handle spam arrest confirms? They have tgp auto confirmers and I'm sure spammers have shit to handle spam arrest already. please. problem identified, described, then solved. |
I can see Kimmykim's point.
And she has not been rude. She has made use of sarcasm and has been straight to the point but has not been rude. She is one of the very few in this business who says it like it is and doesn't mess around. She has always answered to my contacts promply and with professionalism. Not everyone can claim the same. Surfers are not generally computer savvy people and a large percentage of them will not realize or understand that actually legitimate email might end up in their spam folder. Part of a webmaster's job is to make it easy for their surfers. Promoting a program where your very confirmation emails gets placed in a folder other than where the surfer expects it does just the opposite. |
ohhhhhhh.........the drama :glugglug

KimmyKim is usually right to some degree. This time she is right on the money. If your customers get a challenge response system, and nothing is there to respond, the mail gets moved to a folder that has a PILE of legitimate junk mail. They're not expecting this email, so it just sits there until it gets deleted.
Encouraging your surfers to have software that closes the lines of communications between your sponsors and the customers is a BAD idea. Common sense. If this affects 1% of your surfers, that may amount to $30 every month, or it may be tens of thousands a month, depending on who you are. |
I'm sure some are. I'd have to take an in depth look at the image verification system. Some can be cracked, some can't.
In the meantime the other method is to contact: http://spamarrest.com/contact/ them directly and ask about a whitelist program to help nip the problem in the bud. It is pretty clear, like console killers, spam aresst style of challenge response spam verification is not going away. adapt or die. Quote:

Because she is an idiot. ( But she doesn't know it )
She feels smarter by bashing people. Classic. |

i've had my ups and downs with kimmy, known her for several years now and the reality is, if she reamed you out - dollars to donuts you probally deserved it. |

So let me get this straight, you need to regularly review your unverified folder to ensure you don't miss anything legitimate. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? You're still sifting through piles of spam, it's just in a different folder...
