Dutch language domain help
I'm trying to figure out what some of my foreign domains mean. I've got about a dozen that I think are Dutch, but babelfish isn't translating them in a meaningful way. ("Verhalen" in particular doesn't make sense in the names). Here are my domains, attempted translation, and hits per day. Can a dutch speaker help me out with the translations?
analseks.com anal sex, 19 bdsmverhalen.com bdsm recovering, 2 geileverhalen.com geile recovering, 75 gratisverhalen.com free recovering, 3 kerstplaatjes.com Christmas(??) blades (cards??), 1 lesbischeverhalen.com lesbian recovering, 2 pornoplaatjes.com porno blades, 1 pornoverhalen.com porno recovering, 5 seksverhalen.com sex recovering, 25 With "anal seks," would that by a common spelling and word order in Dutch? I gather "seks" means sex in other languages too, like I think in Malay and maybe other SE Asian countries, so I'm not sure if the traffic is most likely to be Dutch or not. With "gratisverhalen," would it be safe to assume this is a porn term, or could it have a mainstream connotation such that non-porn surfers would type it. By the way, if there are any pervs here looking for poop and beast sites, Dutch seems like a good language to learn.  Vpscash.nl seems like a completely normal sponsor, nice mix of reality sites and traditional sites, really good quality stuff, but partway down their site list, things start moving in a direction US sponsors tend to avoid. |

Oh dude, what a mess you're making from Dutch. Babelfish definately is no good for Dutch. I'll translate them proper for you:
analseks.com = (should be 'anale seks') anal sex bdsmverhalen.com = bdsm stories geileverhalen.com = horny stories gratisverhalen.com = free stories kerstplaatjes.com = Christmas pictures lesbischeverhalen.com = lesbian stories pornoplaatjes.com = porn pictures pornoverhalen.com = porn stories seksverhalen.com = sex stories So 'verhalen' means stories and 'plaatjes' means pictures. 'Gratis verhalen' has obviously nothing to do with porn and may be Dutch people would type it in (not me), but I doubt they are looking for porn.

Thanks a lot for the help guys! Bummer that verhalen means story, that means almost all my Dutch traffic is story traffic.
And my anal traffic is Polish! And worst of all is Christmas pictures! Well, I'll try regular dutch porn sites on the adult story traffic anyway, it's enough traffic it might still make some money.Fake Nick, I don't run ICQ much, just email me using the whois info on the domains. Adultguus, yeah, I figured all that stuff is legal there...vpscash and its sites look way too professional to risk doing something illegal. |
