im going to the meadowlands tonight to check out the horse races.. i never bet on a horse race before, is there any way to bet correctly? or is it just pick a horse and see if it wins.. also do they give you any kind of inofrmation about the horses being ran besides their names and the odds?

Well your best bet is to take a good look at the horses first.. Choose horses that are fresh and alert, not all worked up and skittish.. Generally they burn out too fast earlier on. Choose a horse that is turning it's ears around a lot and paying attention to the jockey... those are the horses that are acting as a unit with the jockey and they tend to give a better push at the end. -
