What would you do (eBay)?

Normally I have pretty good luck on eBay. However today, I received a product that was listed as ?excellent? condition. The product does work but is not in excellent condition. I paid a fair price for this item if the description was accurate but over paid since it wasn?t.

Should I just laugh it off since I brought it on eBay, or do I have any other alternatives?

The buyer already said no returns. I haven?t left any positive or negative feedback on eBay. The guy shipped it really fast but then again I paypal him within hours of the close of the auction.

BTW, the item cost 164.00 plus 8.00 shipping.

if its really not that big of a deal, then email him, request that he leave you positive feedback, after he does, go leave him extremely horrible negative feedback

Did you try to work it out with the guy?

I know paypal offers a buyers protection but there are certain criterias. Also if u paid through a credit card u can always just do a chargeback.

Sent him an email stating that I received it and that it was well used and, in my opinion, not in excellent condition. Within in mintues, he replied saying no refunds as stated in the auction.

I paid with my AE card through paypal.

Is the loss of value from not being "excellent" condition worth the time to fight through all of the various disposition channels? If so, go for it. On a $164.00 item I'd give negative feedback if the value loss made the item unenjoyable and they refused to make it good and avoid the seller in the future.

i got ripped off for a pc once. The guy ripped me and a bunch of others off, after he boosted up his rating by selling a bunch of pcs dirt cheap, and then made it all back plus tons more ripping everyone else off and not sending anything (ripped off a good 30 ppl). I Filed a complaint with ebay (i paid by money order so no charge back possible or bank refund) and a few months later i got a check fir almost half of what i spent. It wasnt a huge hassle, just took for ever to arrive.

When you file a complaint you can state on the form that the item wasnt as described, but i dont know how they would go about verifying that claim. Its not like he didnt send u anything. Regardless, file the complaint. When they notify him, he will take u more seriously, and it should be enuff for him to take it back rather then risk the potential hassle of loosing his account.

Same thing happened to me once, I just left really bad feed back. When a seller has feedback saying "Item sold as excellent condition was in very poor condition", bidders think twice. I always read the negative feedbacks when I am looking.

I think 165.00 $ is not very less money and I would be really pissed, if the article wouldn´t be in the described condition. So why don´t you let your lawyer send him an email. If this doesn´t help sue this fucker.

if you got the item - it's a done deal - move on - ebay wont help - we all have these experiences if we decide to use ebay - the only thing you have to gain from thsi is the lesson learned - be more careful next time and dont bid on anything you cant take a loss on - ebay is a slot machine these days

If you feel that the item is in an undesirable condition then e-mail the guy again stating you want a return or you'll chargeback and keep the item. Fuck the negative feedback you can put a comment by it stating the guy was an asshole.
