Speaking of music while you work... Every time I'm playing mp3's with Winamp, and I open up a new window, or a new app the damn song starts pausing and sputtering. I have a PIII and lots of memory. What else could this be?

My old puter didn't do that shit...

Primus, Pizzacato Five, and this new guy Mohamed Rafi (he sings Indian surfing music from the 60's) His music is EXTREMELY hard to find. But mostly Primus, oh, and little bit of Tool, but only because I know them.

If anyone knows where I can get more Mohamed Rafi, please let me know.

Latin music but mostly Latin guitarist are my favorites...like Armik (AWESOME!!), Gipsy Kings, Paco De Lucia, etc. Lots of world music like Alabina.

But i still love lots of industrial like Front242, Nitzer Ebb, nin, ministry, etc.

Techno & trance when programming,

Then a mixture for everything else...mostly modern though.
Radiohead (one of the best), New order, Smiths, depeche mode, and some Dave Matthews.

Red, I use love Primus...LOL

In my CD changer right now is Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, Tonic, Train, David Gray and Sarah Harmer. Its all fairly mellow stuff, I am not a big fan of anything real heavy.

My old puter didn't do that shit...

It is an internal problem with some new code Winamp has been using lately ... also same code that makes the POST VERSION 2.73 winamps sound "tinny" ...

If you can grab a copy of winamp 2.73 ... that should solve your problems ...

I have talked with Justin on the phone about these issues, and he is aware of them, but might not have a new code until version 3 early December.

You can get Winamp 2.73 at my Free Downloads website: http://downloads.pauldenenterprises.com (3rd download from the bottom of page)

I've been listening to a lot of old school rock lately. Don't know why, maybe I'm just getting old...

I used to be a Metallica fan, but every since Jason left and Jamez is in rehab, they're pretty much dead
Also Smashing Pumkins, Radiohead, RATM, Nirvana, HipHop and R&B... pretty much everything besides country and ultra mainstream like NSync and Britney Spears.

My old puter didn't do that shit...

It's your video card/driver.. It's hogging the DMA channels for the screen writes. You may find the same thing happens if you move big windows around (depending on how your windows is configured.)

The solution is to get decent drivers (if they exist for your card) or a new vid card.

Cheers,
Backov

ezekiel, what is your operating system?

I know it used to happen when I was in win2k...

if you're in win2k, go in the configuration pannel, and click on the sound& multimedia thing... then in those, check the configuration so that the hardware acceleration is at the fullest. it's dumb, but in win2k by default they put the hardware accelleration at 3/4 :\...

if not, get the newest service packs.... I know the 2nd service pack cured ALL my sound troubles... (would get slubbish sound when moving files arround)

I like all types of music, except most country & pop music, esp the new pop stuff, what a bunch of no talent dorks. put 5 dorks together and start singing and calling that shit music? hell no, that shit is whack as fuck. anywayz i prefer mostly the old deathrow stuff; 2PAC was the realist. all these other people out here are just to cause confusion. they are like what judas was to jesus, just to cause confusion. seems like most good music died with 2pac, now its just a bunch of crap, all these people trying to act hardcore are soft as a grape, what a pity.
