Follow up, SP2 crash
After three installations of XP and SP2, i figured out that it was my BIOS which needed to be updated.
 So if any of you guys have trouble, first try to upgrade your BIOS. |

Thanks for the tip.. but I wouldnt touch SP2 with a 20 foot barge poll.

I have a fairly old BIOS and haven't had any problems with sp2. Only odd thing is I have an extra connection in the tray that says it is a LAN and has limited or no connectivity. No idea yet what it is but it doesn't affect my actual connection at all.
