				Best Sports Car Under $80k
OK heres the deelio. I got $80k to spend. Whats the best sports car I can buy in that money? Its around £40,000 in UK money and the car should be available in the UK without any need for import. Include pics. |

				 | I'm not sure how much they go for over in the UK.... The MSRP is just over 80K is the states 2004 Acura/Honda NSX The HP is a little weak for the price, but will smoke any car through a corner.... a lot of people will say viper or corvette, but those need importing right? |

				 | The Vauxhall VX220 was voted the Car Magazine car of the year. It beat ferraris, porsches and lambos to get that spot. They've since released an even better model, apparently, the VXR220. Available in the UK. 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. Only 60 were made and were sold for £30K. Pretty sure they've all been bought. However, you can still get the VX220 for about £23k (from memory). 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds. Or you could go the Lotus Elise. The VX220 is actually based on the Elise. From what i've read, for performance, you'd want the VX220.

I think to Lotus will be too small for him though.... plus it doesn't come with many options.... its pretty much built to be a lightweight sports car.... | |

Always a beautiful car..but any F-car you can get for under 80k will eat you alive on maintenance dollars.. Get a Porsche.. The price on 996TT's are falling into that range now..and for the buck there isn't a better ride on the market.

				 | i never understand how people have 80k ready to drop into a car and dont have the slightest idea of what car they want. i would assume the person is not really into cars, which i would also assume they really suck at driving and shouldnt be driving an $80,000 sports car. but if you're gonna spend the money anyway my vote goes for an mkIV supra or rs6, or m3, or an sti.

				 | Keep it coming guys. Incidently, I test drove the Lotus Elise and I loved it... it was wild to drive, looks great and revs to the limit. Its just a shame that it has no standard air conditioning (its an option and expensive). Theres no sat nav, no electric roof, no air bags, no boot space and you look like a prat getting in and out of it. Not good for every day use. As for the VX220, I just find it totally ugly. I also think it looks like a blatant design rip off on the Lotus elise. |
