    Kerry vs Bush: Tonights the night you master debaters have been waiting for

    Tonight, President Bush and Senator John Kerry meet in their first debate, on foreign policy.

    "I don't think we've had as clear-cut a difference between two presidential candidates on international issues since 1980," said Richard C. Holbrooke, a former United Nations ambassador and now a top adviser to Mr. Kerry.

    There are "clear differences on the biggest priorities facing the American people, first and foremost on the war on terrorism," Scott McClellan, the White House spokesman, said on Wednesday.

          You could be right, format-wise. I have never liked it when supposed debates turn into a hodge-podge of people all talking over one another. At least here you get to have your say in each post.

          I am no fan of jerks interrupting each other, something that political debates are often rife with.

              It would be roughly 10 billion times more interesting if Bush and Kerry were allowed to ask each other questions.

              They aren't.
              I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
              I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

                          Well, whatever. This is about as good as it's going to get for you guys. I've seen people here on the board posting that they can't wait to see these two guys have a "debate".... well this is it.


                          Other than this it's all just campaign mudslinging, which has become an exercise in tedium,
                          ad nauseum.

                          I might tune in, if it doesn't, you know..... conflict with Survivor. :D

                                              I agree. They could even make it a separate portion of the proceedings so they could still have the rigidly ruled "debates".

                                                                  Will be watching for Bush to veer off his script and stumble..... and *pop*... out comes another Bushism. Kerry will have to bait him and shake him up if he wants to score extra points.

                                                                  The whole "I'm not Bush" platform will only get him so far.

                                                                              I just hope one of them sneezes or has to pee or something, else it could prove awfully sterile.. Kerry has been a little sick, maybe he'll puke.
                                                                              Maybe they'll have pretzels for snacks and Bush will choke.

                                                                              Anyway, should be fun to watch and hopefully clear some things up.
