Fucking Assholes Hacked My Dedicated Server !
Damn, this really blows. On Monday afternoon, I lost FTP access to my dedicated server through Mesanet, it connects, but then it says that my call is being blocked, and after trying to get them to do something with it, they say that someone hacked into it and cut off FTP access. I don't know if that's true or a line of BS, but it's Friday night now and still no access. It's really pissing me off because I have some MUCH NEEDED updates to make, but I can't change shit.
They say that they could take my server down and reinstall the operating system to try to fix it, but they claim to be working on it while it's running, but still there's no luck because I still can't login. FUCKING PISSES ME OFF !!! [This message has been edited by Slick (edited 08-03-2001).] |

yea your host is probably BSing you... it should only take a few minutes to get u back with some ftp access...

No BS man. I had a bud who had his RaQ4 Hacked. Hacker was running portscans using 45Mbit/s. My advice to you: download all HTML/GIF/JPG (no scripts php cgi).format, reinstall OS, install patches monthly and turn off telnet access and even FTP when yo don't use it/need it.

Switch hosts -- you need a sysadmin that knows how to deal w/ that shit...
or better yet know how to prevent it in the first place. Call my cell -- I can recommend someone to run your servers that knows how to keep your servers tight 310-663-9338 -- your sysadmin has to keep up w/ all the latest hacker news, software updates, etc... |
