    Lensman Read This

    Why are we still using such an old version of VB ?

    Have you seen some of the cool features on the newer versions. ?

    There has to be some reason you haven't upgraded that i can't figure out ..

    Cost ?? nope..

    Hassles ? a few but i cant see that being a huge set-back..

    Staff ?? Beat them with sticks..

    Can't you hire a speed addict to field gfy questions/requests or something..

    Buy a small slum hotel and move in a squad of gfy'ers to staff gfy with. Im sure you could find lots of takers.. Money isn't even a problem .

                  I've seen a "new and improved" version of vB and it crashes firefox everytime I try to post a reply. But I suppose if new features that just add bloat are more important than the exchange of ideas then I guess GFY should be upgraded.

                      this board is for banner ads, plain and simple...as long as the advertisers don't complain he sees no reason to upgrade or change it

                              The lightness of this version is the main reason I think. There is a reason why it is so light, why PM's are turned off, why 90% of threads are pushed in the Fucking Around section, etc, and it isn't because he doesn't give a fuck. It is because, in my opinion anyway, GFY's attraction is about speed, new threads, interesting topics non-stop and lots of bullshit drama. Noone gives a fuck about gay little vbulletin features where you can preview the post before clicking on the thread (which btw would reduce the appeal of GFY and also reduce pageviews, etc) and I think it is better it stay as is.

                                  I think it's mainly cuz everyone is familar with this one. GFY is here for posting, it really does not need all the other fancy features

                                      Some things you may notice in the new version of vb.

                                      A working easier search function.

                                      Proper ignore features.

                                      Secure forms handling.


                                      etc etc etc..

                                      The new version is faster and more secure. Its anything but bloated..

                                                  This version of the board is UNSECURE !!!

                                                  I could take everyone's names right now. Imagine the hassle that would be trying to give the names back etc etc.

                                                  So if i can do it, then there are dozens of people who could do it easier and eviler. So with that said , its only a matter of time.
