There is no telling. I think it was a mistake for them to name the predeccesor 5 years in advance though. I know it was a big deal when Johnny left and it was between Leno and Letterman but someone may pop that is better in the next few years.SIG TOO BIG! It took quite some time for Conan to blossom into the comedian he is today.
Look at his show 5 years ago and look at it today. The humour is different.
And in 5 years from now, it will be different yet. I hardly see a masturbating bear on the tonight show.
I don't think Conan will be less or more funny. I think he will be just as funny. But his humour will obviously be different.SIG TOO BIG! Only reason Leno has one over on Conan right now is the guest lists.
Once Conan has those, ratings will go through the roof. I have little doubt.
The number of viewers to Conan and Leno are near the same.
But yes OLDER audience plays into it.
I think it is only because he has a better time slot myself with a better number of guests that got better profiles.
Conan will never grow till leno steps out of the time slot.
Surely if they were to switch Leno for Conan...

Emm I think Conan has more talent than Leno, I actually watch Conan, I gave Leno plenty of time and he just does not do it for me.
But then G4 show hosts are 10 fold better than the both of them just because they are young and in my age group. Something that NBC does not think about really...
NBC is out of touch with the audience in its humor and target markets.

I like Leno and Conan. Different audiences. Leno's writers are better but Conan is better/quicker/funnier on his feet with guests. Leno is more traditional and Conan is currently targeting younger audiences (sometimes his show is beyond immature).Comment

The writers wont really change cuz the Conan writers for the most part will remain intact as it is the formula to Conans success in the first place.
