What techniques do you use for removing the background from a photo, while maintaining the hair?
Here are the 5 most common:

I was succesfull in removing the background from the model's pic I am working with, but when it comes to the hair I'm clueless

The hair is all over the place, so it is impossible to use any marquee tool, and I know very little about the remove background tool, so I have no idea what to do.

Any ideas?

I always use the mask..

Actually, the hair is the EASIEST pasrt to do..

the trikkiest is the thighs.. Of you,re a bit shaky this day, she'll looks like she have cellulite

Some people will think I?m crazy but I duplicate the picture... bring the opacity and lock the top layer with the bottom layer, erase the entire background on the top layer and draw the hair back in using a 1 pixel brush and fade the ends.

At first its hard and takes more time then its worth but as time goes on you will find that it takes no time at all and your work will come out 10 times better then it used to.

Opps I just gave away one of my secrets

i'm interested in your method, i'm pretty good at cutting out girls and use a whole bunch of techniques including the high pass filter sometimes but hair fly away hair is always a problem especially when there's alot of the color of the background it it - when u say you draw the hair back in u mean with a one pixel brush u just trace the hair from the bottom layer? hair isn't one color tho.

Knockout is pretty good. too cheap to buy it.

Ineed. I turn off web colors and change the opacity on the layer. I make each strand of hair a different layer and chose the colors of the hair by what color the hair is around the area im working in. Ill have to make a tatorial for this. It seems to be an ongoing problem with designers. Hair is a bitch for sure, but as soon as you get the method down its cake.
