Dutch banks... which is best for handling checks?

All my business is at ABN-AMRO but since september they are charging a ?32 minimum on all checks! They say it is due to fraud, if you get a check that is too big in regards to your accounts money traffic they won't even accept it.

Getting the money takes a full 5 weeks now coz they aren't doing anything in advance anymore.

Anyone know what bank is best these days to handle checks? These rules are outrageous.

If you can open at American express in Netherlands an USD account, ask them for their fees.

Rabo bank went through the same stuff as ABN Amro seems to be going now.
Aom people complained fiercely (read me) and for those the old system was re-installed.
I pay 12,50 and have it in 2/3 days.

Cashing checks written out 2 a company should not get you any problem. Private checks is a different thing....

I would say... start a company

ALl my checks are on my private name. And I cash them for my company account.

ABN still does the job for me for 11 euro.

What ya mean with 28 euro minimum? You mean you can not cash a check lower then 28 euro, or they CHARGE at least 28 euro?

I just cashed a check 2 days ago, and I see they only charged around 11 euro.

As far as Rabobank, what a clowns are that. Asking 75 euro per check whahaha. Because porn is an extra risk. They suck anyway, because when you join Rabobank city 1, Rabobank city 2 can't do shit for you, because every bank is on it's own.. Now that is professional:D

Rabobank charges me 12.50 euro per check. I have the money after less than 24 hours (they help me a LOT faster than other clients cause I'm cashing a LOT of checks every month).

Reminds me I still have to negotiate with them about a custom fee

I used to work in bloembollen too till about 7 years ago. A few of my best friends own a "bloembollen" company Can't say I regret choosing this business over the flower business hehe.

Seems like most (big) TGP's are owned by the dutch now. Good stuff :D

I'm not selling advertising though. Although I have plans to start selling gallery spots or partner accounts on my TGP's later this year/early next year but that's gonna take a long time still. Right now, I'm only listing FHG's and I'm already using diesel.

Not all sponsors offer this, and furthermore, some charge 50 euro per wire, I prefer a 10 euro check then

It seems that a lot has changed;
I used to pay only a couple of guilders back in the Xpics days....

Here in Canada my bank only charges a couple of dollars per cheque. I just love it

Checkusout.com changed their rules and I have a shitload of small checks with my own name on it. Any suggestions?

haha yeh I was cashing checks with them and everything went fine so I was happy. All of the sudden the rules change and now all checks have to be made out to "CheckUsOut".

Luckily I have changed nearly all my sponsor payouts to either epassporte or bank wire, I suggest you do the same for future payments. As for your small checks... try Rabo or Postbank maybe they still have flexible rules.

The problem is since a few months the checks need to say "To the order of: Checkusout" instead of your own name.

I changed the minimum payout to $250 where I can. I will use the Postbank if there are no other solutions.

Yes... I visited the guy in december, to pick up some checks that were sent back, because the bank didn't want to cash them anymore..

Their bank in America doesn't want to cash checks for third parties (due to some rules), so they all have to say 'CheckUsOut' instead of your own name.. No big deal (if you really trust them, like I do)

Yes this is true... the company is legit IMO, rules for cashing checks just get tougher because there is so much fraud in it.

It's beyond me why a technological advanced country like the US still uses checks... it's almost medieval
