Here is a bump.
Checkusout.com changed their rules and I have a shitload of small checks with my own name on it. Any suggestions?

haha yeh I was cashing checks with them and everything went fine so I was happy. All of the sudden the rules change and now all checks have to be made out to "CheckUsOut".

Luckily I have changed nearly all my sponsor payouts to either epassporte or bank wire, I suggest you do the same for future payments. As for your small checks... try Rabo or Postbank maybe they still have flexible rules.

The problem is since a few months the checks need to say "To the order of: Checkusout" instead of your own name.

I changed the minimum payout to $250 where I can. I will use the Postbank if there are no other solutions.

hm thats fucked up.... why the hell do they want their own name on the checks anyway, some special reason for that?

Yes... I visited the guy in december, to pick up some checks that were sent back, because the bank didn't want to cash them anymore..

Their bank in America doesn't want to cash checks for third parties (due to some rules), so they all have to say 'CheckUsOut' instead of your own name.. No big deal (if you really trust them, like I do)

Yes this is true... the company is legit IMO, rules for cashing checks just get tougher because there is so much fraud in it.

It's beyond me why a technological advanced country like the US still uses checks... it's almost medieval

ING is expensive but very good, have a dollar account there ( hilversum ) and it takes about 1 day

How much do they charge?

hova 01-30-2005 04:36 PM

I haven't used a check for about a year now, I only use wires and for some sponsors epass.

I hate to think about what I could have done with the tens of thousands of euros I gave to the Rabobank to handle my checks

ING charges 12.30 euro per check and every 3 months you pay a fee for the account ( about 35.00 euro )
you need an euro account as well, they take the commission off your euro account and put the dollar amount on your dollar account.
it is NOT a company account and it depends which ING bank you enter, I use Hilversum because it is near to my hometown and I have this account already for 4 years and never had any problems.
