Malaysian siblings survive 17th floor plunge

    Siblings survive 17-storey fall
A 12-year-old boy and his younger sister miraculously survived a fall from the top floor of the 17-storey Eastern Court apartment at Lorong Hijau 7, off Jalan Sir Ibrahim here.

Both landed on the roof of a Perodua Kancil car, which buffered their fall in the 1.45am incident yesterday.

The boy, identified only as Sathilan, and his sister Logeswary, 10, suffered spinal injuries and fractured their limbs.

Logeswary, who also had a concussion, underwent a five-hour surgery at the Penang Hospital.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Syed Ismail Syed Azizan said an unemployed woman, in her late 30s, had been detained over the incident.

?A police team picked up the woman from her house in Jelutong,? he said yesterday, adding that the woman would be sent for mental evaluation.
