Where is the best spot to surf in Florida?
Is Florida a good place to surf? If yes, where do people surf? I might go to Florida this winter and I always wanted to try surfing. I like wakeboarding so I figured surfing should be fun, probably harder to learn but still, I'd like to give it a try. Any idea where I should go if I want to try surfing?

sebastian inlet is a good spot. But I'd say anywhere on the east coast would be kicking today.. lots of sharks to keep you company
this was yesterday at Daytona http://pixelsplat.com/images/DSCF0102.jpg http://pixelsplat.com/images/DSCF0124.jpg it's hard to judge the size from thos pics.. but those waves that were far out there had 10 ft + faces

Sebastian Inlet is usually good. Ponce Inlet is decent on a calm day for smaller surf. You'll have to get used to sharks brushing you in either spot though

Sebastian Inlet = local spot
You better be a damn good surfer. Or you won't ever catch a wave.... Or at best come home with a broken nose/board... Lot's of angry locals there. I don't even go there. |
