Model Release Questions

Hi guys, I have a question for all the webmasters who shoot their own content. I'm designing a site which will be based on one girl in particular. Is it going to be necessary to get her to sign a model release form for every single photoset?

Also, a few of the photosets she is providing me with are from the past, one or two may even have been published elsewhere, but no model release or contract was signed by her... will a standard model release work for these sets as well?

My main question is, will I have to get her to physically sign a model release form every week when she sends me a new photo set (her boyfriend takes her pictures).

Also, could someone point me to a template of a good model release form to start with?

Thanks guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My advice is to have her fill out a release every single time she shoots.
As far as the old content she doesn't have releases for, I wouldn't use it.

I hope this helps!

This is as I understand it based on many years shooting

In law the model owns her own image, she signs away her rights to control the usage of the image with a model release.

The exception is if she is shot by a professional photographer, then she should of expected the images to be sold. However this can be argued in court.

So you need a model release of some form to release her control of the images so you can safely publish them. Otherwise whan you have done all the work she can change her mind and take the site away from you.

Best thing is to get a lawyer familiar with this business to draw up a contract and release for you.

Yep...It's kinda funny that I am drawn towards the very stupidity that pisses me off.
