My $1 million Idea: Extreme Makeover -- The Babies!
On a bet, the producer of the Amazing Race convinces two former Extreme Makeover contestants to marry and bear a child.
These two once-hideous people prove they were as betrayed by nature in the brains department as they were in the looks department, by agreeing to this scheme, rather than returning to small-town life and mingling their tainted genetics with one of the attractive people who had mocked them in high school.
Told in 4 episodes, TV viewers at home get to follow along as the happy couple spend hours admiring their "science project", Tony Roberts-looking faces in the mirrors that cover every surface of the mansion they're briefly being permitted to occupy while the series is filmed, contrasted against as many hours spent submitting to humiliating tests and speaking gravely with the many medical "experts" brought on the show solely to speculate on the likely deformity of their hellish spawn. All of this builds to a heady climax on the last episode, when Baby Freak is born while America watches -- breathlessly.
