(one from the AGP card and the other from PCI card ?) will that work ? has anyone tried it out ? or will i have to get a dual output AGP card ?

I believe you could just get a multi monitor switch box and not even worry about having duel video cards.

i think the multi monitor will just output the same screen on both monitors. What iam looking for is extra desktop space by streching the desktop onto two monitors.

Ever thought of replacing your vid card, with a tripple output vid card? you can have 3 monitors in action.

Check out Maxtor's website.

You cannot have 2 video cards in the same box... None will work.

Get a dual-head video card.

In Windws 2000 and XP you can have two monitors or more.

You can buy a dual AGP video card. That has some Merit because it connects directly to the part of the chip set they call the Northbridge. In otherwords it is faster than the standard PCI video card would be. If the requirement is not for gaming or other highend application, I see no problem in using the AGP and a PCI Vedio adapter.

ahhh ok i understand, the box will not do anything other than make each screen show the same thing, you need a video card that will allow you to split the screens like they said for what you want.

You can add a PCI card, you might have to tell the BIOS that that's your main boot up card in order for Windows to boot properly.
Then the first time you boot, the PCI card's monitor will be active, then just go to your display properties and set up the other monitor and all the settings for dual screens are there.
I had a setup like that for a while before getting a dual-head AGP card.
