What's so funny? When built correctly, doorway pages can help your site get up and stay up in the rankings for years, as well as capture extremely targeted traffic. It wont' get you a TON of traffic so it's best used for certain types of sites such as retail stores or categorized portals, where there is a lot of keyword ground to cover.

yeah doorway pages/ SE trap upsell sites are nothing to laugh about. Especially with my Indian Niche, the SE traffic sells like MAD with our site.

at best you will get a SE flunky like me whom has a few listings. the "experienced experts" as you put it will not work for someone else and not very cheap if they do. After all why would they want to help you out when they could do it for themselves and make more money over time?

I wanted to say the same, some SE-Expert who really knows what he's doing won't share is secrets for a few $$$, so I don't think that you'd get a good ROI if you go that way. But I'm just guessing around here :-)
