It had it's moments. It's been a few years since I watched it, I'd watch it again if it came on. I'm a fan of Fishburn's work, overall I'd give the movie a 7/10. CD Ebert gives it a thumb's up. Not a BIG thumb's up, not two thumb's up, but a thumb's up nonetheless.

Far from my favorite though.

Main Entry: event horizon
Function: noun
: the surface of a black hole : the boundary of a black hole at which the escape velocity equals the speed of light and beyond which nothing can escape from within it

Have at it. If you like sci-fi and horror both in the same movie, this one's a must see.

Sure, it's the point where all matter, including sunlight, cannot escape. Once something crosses that point, nothing can escape the pull of the black hole.

What do you think of the point of singularity?

A ship, called the Event-Horizon, was sent out to test it's "faster-then-lightspeed" technology, only to vanish completely for nearly 30 years. Out of nowhere it appears in our solar system 30 years later, and a search and rescue team is sent to find out what happened, and more importantly, where it went. And what it brought back with it.

I thought it was a really good horror movie; one of the few that actually made me jump a few times. I highly recommend it if you like sci-fi and horror at all, as CDSmith has said.

Definately interesting to give you a quick response. It's a feasible, and even practical concept that actually is still being talked about in the physics community today. Lots of supporters of the worm-hole theory and other dimensions and/or universes.

Getting a little too deep haha.

They say it's the point of the black hole where all laws of physics break down..

I don't think of it that way. I think the matter is crushed to a point where it is converted into a form of invisible energy that is actually emitted from the black hole.

Similar to Hawkin Radiation

I don't think it's a endless point at all. I think of a black hole as kind of a super dark matter

This thread just took a singular quantum leap to the egghead level.

I, however, must sleep.

I didn't mean to kill the thread

Things like quantum physics and such fascinate me

The movies was based on things like space time, etc
