    Investing in a promising cd

    Hello, my name is James.
I run a record label called Hollow Records.
We're very new, and just signed our second band.
Our first release is coming out, it will be a cd for a band named Numbers, Revolt!. They're huge in the Ontario hardcore scene.
Basically, what I'm here to propose, is a buisness deal, between the label and yourself. We're looking for investors, who are interested in making 150% of their original investment (A/$+A). We have a small contract made up, basically stating that we (Hollow Records) agree to pay back 150%, of your money. We'll be doing pre-sales, and we expect to sell 200 out of the 500 that will be pressed, on the cd release.
A bit about the band and the cd.
Numbers, Revolt! have played with some of the biggest, world-wide known hardcore/metal bands, since their start up in early Feburary. They have a fan base, that is beyond impressive. They sold out of 150 cds, at their independent demo release in march.
They sold out of shirts, in their first show, after getting their first batch.
Needless, to say. This band is liked, and this is a great investment.

This is a buisness proposal I made up, for the cd:

    Lets break this down.
We will be pressing 500 cds, and will be sending 100 to interpunk, have 100 for our online store, and sell 150+ at the shows.
The cds will be available at every show Numbers, Revolt! play and every show the label puts on.
We're expecting the cd's to sell out within 2 months, tops.
We will then take our profits, and get more pressed.
Out of ourt second press, we'll be getting distro deals, for stores.
We'll be sending 50 cds, out to numerous radio stations/hardcore sites.
Once recording is done, we're filming a video, and will be submiting it to Much Music in Canada, where it will be played on The Punk Show, The Wedge and Much Loud. Giving us great promotion.
We'll also be setting up interviews, all over the world.
We're in the talks with a girl from europe who will send out a cd to sites in Europe, to be reviewed, and get interviews set up. We'll be doing the same for the U.S and Canada.
We'll also, try and get a song accepted, to be put in your magazine.
We'll be having ads all over punk/hardcore websites.
Numbers, Revolt! will be setting up a tour, for all over Ontario in support of the cd.
I was asked, to be more specific with details, and added this:

The girl organizes street-teams, and online distro on her store. She will be selling the cds on her online store, and getting flyers all over, to get people aware of this cd. She runs the street-team for moneen.

For radio stations... Heres is my list of College radio stations, we'll be sending the cd to:

We want eventually have it so, all those stations have the cd.
First, I'm only going to be sending the cd to EDGE 102, for commercial radio stations. Getting it played on The Punk Show (which is hosted by the same guy who hosts those programs on Much Music.).

I'll also be sending it to radio stations like:
    http://www.punkradiocast.com
    and
    http://www.radiotakeover.com

We'll be flyering all over Toronto, Oshawa, Brampton, and surrounding before the cd is out, to promote the cd/cd release.
The cd will be $10 each, and we will be paying the investors their money, first and foremost, with the first block of cds sold.

If you're interested e-mail me at:
    [email protected]

We're looking for any amounts, and accept paypal, but prefer a cheque/money order.

This is a great money making opprutunity, and I hope we can do some great buisness with some of you, and make us both some nice, profit.

    James - Hollow Records

        500 CDs?

I thought that's something the band would do themselves.

i maybe interested in this, i support the local scenes like crazy throughout ohio and michigan.

post some mp3s or some demos so we can hear some tracks (a big portion of the interest of this obviously talent but would like to hear the quality of recording and production of it).

and don't worry about ppl posting "adult webmaster board piss off" cause there threads every few days about music or a band people enjoy.... tell them to gfy, you're here aren't ya?

It is an independent record label, and we'll be doing some ditribution, like to small indie stores, and online stores. But, we'll be hooking up with a company, on our next press to hit the big chain stores.

Great to hear you're in the scene, man.

The label is a hardcore/metalcore label.
Like bands, as i lay dying, ion dissonance, dillinger escape plan, and many more.
Do you have ICQ, or MSN? I'll send you some songs of theirs via that.

To the person who said this is a scam, its not. I made this proposal on another forum, and so I basically copied and pasted the buisness plan. Sorry for the long read, most of that are radio stations we'll be sending to.
We'll be signing a contract with you, and it will be 100% legit. It won't be a proper contract of course, because as we're an indie label we don't want/have the need for lawyers, and what not. Its just something on paper, that has all the terms, and what not.

Anyone, who wants to talk further, email me, and I'll email you back. Or email your msn/icq and I'll add you to that.
