Got this virus? Here's how to get the nasty f*cker out.
Recently (within the month), adult popups started annoying me.
girl thingy Pool, Deep Anal, Teeny Girls, Hard Sex Land, this kind of URLs. So I installed Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, Bazooka Spyware Scanner, Safeguard Pop-Up Blocker, Pop-Up Stopper, and System Security Suite, nothing helped. Now this does: Step 1: Use the task manager to "End Process" for mcc.exe Step 2: Use regedit to delete the following registry entries: i. "hkey_current_user\software\media codecs" <-- make sure you are deleting the entire key entry and not just a part of it. ii. Go to "hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\cur rentversion\run" and delete the registry value associated with mcc.exe Step 3: Go to your system32 folder and locate the file mcc.exe. Delete this little punk. (In fact if you look at its properties, you will see that its creation date corresponds to the date you started having problems). Step 4: Clean out all your Temp folders, and Temporary Internet Files folders.[*]C:\Windows\Temp\[*]C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\[*]C:\Documents and Settings\<All other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\ [*]C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ [*]C:\Documents and Settings\<All other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\[*]Empty your "Recycle Bin" Just make sure you do not delete the Temp folders themselves though, just the contents. this should work |
