Is there a shortcut to make something similar to the picture below. I am trying to create alternating "rays" of color - not as asymetric as the image below.

(Using Illustrator)

I know in PS you could do something similar with the Filter->polar coordinates.

just drop the opacity on the colorburst layer so it cuts the color in two and gives it the darker/lighter sections.
