I have always loved log homes. Growing up we owned an island that had 2 log homes on it. The main home we called the "lodge" because the island used to be owned by a large corporation that used to bring up clients for hunting etc.

I loved that damn thing, not a summer goes by that I don't think of my time there and wish that that the family still had it.

Congrats on your home, it looks awesome and you will love living on the water.

Quality of life is relative. I've been offered several jobs if I'd move to California. No way, no how. It's a great place to visit but I'd never want to live there

I like owning enough property where I don't ever have to see my neighbors - and no fences or window covers are needed to keep them from seeing me

But I'm glad we all want to live in different areas or else we'd all be crammed into one place
