I have always loved log homes. Growing up we owned an island that had 2 log homes on it. The main home we called the "lodge" because the island used to be owned by a large corporation that used to bring up clients for hunting etc.

I loved that damn thing, not a summer goes by that I don't think of my time there and wish that that the family still had it.

I'm sure it would be great for a getaway but to reside there permanently, no thanks. I'll take San Diego's average temperature of 72 F and pay for it to boot. Quality of life does have a premium.

a bit over priced though, but it is a sellers market here right now.
the area is not to bad, but I'm not much of a Fort Rouge fan.

Quality of life is relative. I've been offered several jobs if I'd move to California. No way, no how. It's a great place to visit but I'd never want to live there :)

I like owning enough property where I don't ever have to see my neighbors - and no fences or window covers are needed to keep them from seeing me :thumbsup

But I'm glad we all want to live in different areas or else we'd all be crammed into one place :winkwink:
