golf is for people who were picked last in every school game. It's the thing they created to make people with no athletic ability whatsoever forget about how fucking pathetic they are at sports..
You cant call a 90 year old retired proctologist in a grass field beating a defenceless ball into its grave a fucking athlete, it's not a sport. Wheres the fucking payoff in golf, the fucking ball is going to end up in the hole sooner or later every goddamn time. God i that shitty assed "geriatric activity"

I agree... Iv played ice Hockey, football, baseball, basketball my whole life...
I consider my self a decent athlete, and I must say that Golf is the hardest game/sport I have ever played. It took the longest to master... and someday it feels like iv gotten worse after practicing. People who hate golf are those who haven't played it before, or haven't the mind, skill or attention span to play it. just my 2cents cry, after you try... ![]() |

Golf requires skills so it is classified as a sport, however, to compare it with a sport that requires skill and athletic ability like tennis is wrong.

(please note: I have posted this before)
For all you golfers, and all U sports fans 4 that matter... The following is forwarded not to offend tennis, basketball, football or soccer fans. It is, rather, an attempt to put everything in its proper perspective. Ever wonder why golf is growing in popularity and people who don't even play go to tournaments or watch it on TV? These truisms may shed light on reasons why. Golf is an honorable game, with the overwhelming majority of players being honorable people who don't need referees. Golfers don't have some of their players in jail every week. Golfers don't scratch their privates on the golf course. Golfers don't kick dirt on, or throw bottles at, other people. Professional golfers are compensated in direct proportion to how well they play. Golfers don't get per diem and two seats on a charter flight when they travel between tournaments. Golfers don't hold out for more money, or demand new contracts, because of another player's deal. Professional golfers don't deman! d that the taxpayers pay for the courses on which they play. When golfers make a mistake, nobody is there to cover for them or back them up. The PGA Tour raises more money for charity in one year than the National Football League does in two. You can watch the best golfers in the world up close, at any tournament, including the majors, all day, every day for $25 or $30. The cost for a seat in the nosebleed section at the Super Bowl will cost around $300 or more. You can bring a picnic lunch to the tournament golf course, watch the best in the world and not spend a small fortune on food and drink. Try that at one of the taxpayer funded baseball or football stadiums. In golf you cannot fail 70% of the time and make $9 million a season, like the best baseball hitters (.300) batting average) do. Golf doesn't change its rules to at! tract fans. Golfers have to adapt to an entirely new playing area each week. Golfers keep their clothes on while they are being interviewed. Golf doesn't have free agency. In their prime, Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer and other stars, would shake your hand and say they were happy to meet you. In his prime Jose Canseco wore T-shirts that read "Leave Me Alone." You can hear birds chirping on the golf course during a tournament. At a golf tournament, (unlike at taxpayer-funded sports stadiums and arenas) you won't hear a steady stream of four letter words and nasty name calling while you're hoping that no one spills beer on you. Tiger Woods can hit a golf ball three times as far as Barry Bonds can hit a baseball. Golf Courses don't ruin the neighborhood. Now, this is a slice of golf history I thought you might enjoy. I never knew why there were 18 holes before this. Why do full-length golf courses have 18 holes, and not 20, or 10 or an even dozen? How many of you golfers know the answer to this one? During a discussion among the club's membership board at St. Andrew's in 1858, one of the members pointed out that it takes exactly 18 shots to polish off a fifth of Scotch. By limiting himself to only one shot of Scotch per hole, the Scot figured a round of golf was finished when the Scotch ran out. |

lol.. I indeed like those facts, even though I wasn't the one to point them out.
I think its fair to say that golf is a sport. And I absolutely agree that its a sport where you cant make many excuses and blame anyone but your self for playing badly. So it is among the more honorable of sports. |

When was the last time you seen a golfer break into a sweat unless it was too hot out or they had to waddle to their golf cart

If we pitted you against the other top 'booger pickers' in America... and made you pick boogers out of each others nose, or had judges decide on booger picking technique, or judged on size of boogers picked.. then yes...
You probably could become a pro, and make millions of dollars.. Have endorsements, merchandise... Hell man, what are you doing in this biz ? |

concentration ? aplication of skill ? running really, really fast ? pushing really, really hard ? I play all sports, even ones that you sweat while playing. But i find those who sweat alot when playing any sport are 'usually' doing the wrong thing... or out of position, or are just looking for attention, tryng to get everyone to notice them. You must be one of the prima donna fags, looking to attract attention to your self. |

my friend I play all those sports. I play ice hockey every Friday night, work out everyday... and yes I sweat
And, i think if you saw me in person, your mouth would be closed. But whatever, i guess i expect too much from people. Its hard to actually 'think', which is why you resort to insults rather than try to answer my questions. All are BIG MEN behind their keyboards. |

Golf is the number 1 sport/activity/event in the world, (yes-bigger than soccer you pussies!)
four rounds of golf, (a tournament is four rounds) is the equivilent of walking appx. 18 miles. 1760 yards in a mile, avg course=7200 yards. what other sport can you tap a little ball 2 feet to win $1,000,000.00 ????? |

When I was a little kid until I was beat up and called a fag by the jocks.I turned to real sports like Hockey (goalie) football (receiver)Chasing a little ball all over the place in the rain and getting drunk while driving around in a golf cart is for the lonely old men I see everyday...I'll leave that to the great athletes like Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicolas

I was even on my way to going pro with hockey. I played MTHL (which is the equivalent of professional hockey for kids in Canada), all the way until I met a chick and decided to not risk things (not a good chance of going pro) and get a real job. I always thought golf was shit when i saw it on TV too. My dad used to watch it and i would fight with him to change the channel. I went out on day, when i was 20, to play golf and thought i would be a natural. Hell, iv been to the driving range a few times. I could hit that damn ball, and swing that damn club fast and hard. but hey.. i shot 155 (that's real bad) on a executive par 66 course. I was fucking pissed ! And the more angry and aggressive I got, the worse i did.All the people i went with, who are lawyers and a 'pencil neck geeks', shot 80 - 90's. You can imagine how embarrassed i felt. Me, a thick muscle bound guy (compared to these fucks at least) getting my ass whipped. That's life... Another reason why people dont play golf when they are young is because golf is fucking expensive to play. I play once a week, at $150 per round. Now that i am good.. my strength helps me. i hit it long and shoot 82-88 depending on the course. I know where your coming from man... cuz your opinion used to be mine as well... you need to go out and play. If your ever in the Toronto area in Canada, icq me and ill take you out for a round. |
