Just installed SP2...

Nothing broke (as far as I know), TOUCH WOOD!

And, though it may be my imagination, or a coincidence....

But Mozilla seems to be rendering pages faster

Yes, I'd heard many people have had problems.

So I spent several hours burning all my data to CDs. I was kinda
happy to discover that this was time wasted

I believe some people are still having problems, occasionally major ones. I read a story the other day that suggested many of the problems are a result of conflicts caused by spyware. So BEFORE you upgrade, be sure to cleanse your HD of spyware as thoroughly as possible (MS also makes this recommendation).

I use those two apps to detect installed spyware

Plus SpywareBlaster which helps prevent spyware
from being installed in the first place.

Just out of curiosity...

Everyone who has had their WinXP Pro box shut down because of SP2, did you use the key that starts out as FCKGW-?

Incidentally, isn't it funny that the most widespread key for WinXP Pro Corp looks like it should say "Fuck GW"?
