i saw both ET and Back to the Future a month ahead of their releases, both rough working prints, different music, no credits - both movies I was blown away by - when I saw ET there had been almost nothing released to the press about it, had no idea what it was.

Nothing beats seeing movies like Porkys or Fast Times at the drive in with 20 of your friends and a few cases of beer.
