Do you consider yourself an informed voter?
Do you do your homework on all of the candidates? Where do you get your information to make up your mind, newspaper, TV soundbites, GFY? Do you vote the way your family and friends do?

There are almost no informed voters. "Informed voters" have actually spent a decent amount of time studying political philosophy, politicology, economy, etc. Watching the news every once in a while and reading a few newspapers doesn't cut it.

i've watched every minute of their conventions on CSpan.
read countless documents online. watch the news at least 3 hours a day. but only consider myself partially informed. but informed enough to know not to vote for bush.

I dont think politicians themselves are well informed so I dont think it makes a difference if I am well informed on the big parties political views. They all try to get votes and then they do whatever the fuck they want. I know that come election day I will be voting for, what I feel, is the lesser of two evils, Kerry. There is probably a much better candidate out there to represent my views but they would be in a much smaller party and therefor irrelevant in this election. I think that you should look at all the canidates and see which one fits you and vote for them but in this election the stakes are too high.
I dont want to get drafted to make oil tycoons richer.

I think more informed than the 'average' voter - but not nearly to the extent that many people are.
Until the system changes and voters are given real choices through the media instead of just pushing the same 2 tired dopes, it's pointless to look TOO hard.. because regardless of which of the 2 you pick, if you dig deep enough you're not going to want either man for president. ![]()
