vBulletin Paid subscription feature

Apparently the latest version of the software allows for paid subscriptions to the forums. They only allow the following processors, however. How many of these allow adult related transactions (assuming an adult related board)?

NOCHEX
WorldPay
Authorize.Net

Is anyone currently making use of this feature on any projects?

I use it for site subscriptions, but not porn related. Thru paypal and other than paypal raking me over the coals as far as nickel and diming me to death it works pretty smooth and should work as well wth the other processors.

you didn't really need that feature..

just drop the board behind a regular protected members area.. like a paysite, and use whatever processor you want.

(1) I think that boards like this can be a great sales tool for site memberships. I plan to use them in the free areas on all my single girl sites.

Boards like this get bookmarks. The more often a surfer returns to the site, the more likely it is that he'll sign up.

Even if he doesn't sign up for the site, he'll probably sign up to view the board, since it's free. When he does that, you have his email address and can send updates/spam. Free boards are a great way of collecting emails period.

(2) I run a busty escort forum and use an older version of vBulletin currently. Like all escort boards, there is a forum for members reviews of providers.

Reviews are crucial in the escort game since the chance of getting ripped off is pretty good. A lot of sites charge a small monthly subscription fee for access to the review sections of the forums and this can be pretty profitable.

Since it is a blatantly adult topic, using paypal would be pointless. I'd almost rather use a lesser known processor anyway, as long as they are adult friendly.

With a lot of processors, you get a referral fee for referring people to sign up with them. Then you get the another fee when they sign up for your service.

We are using it at our hopscybergym dot com site as a free feature. I guess we will know soon enough if it was worth putting up.

Have you forgotten? I thought we decided to stop the BS a few weeks ago. I have nothing against you. I even think some of your opinions are interesting, although I tend not to agree with them much.

I don't think there is anything wrong with escorting and I don't attend church (I, like you, HATE formal Christiandom). I do consider myself a Christian and will defend attacks against my faith, but I have that right in the USA.

I run a little board mainly just bull shittin and stuff, I had a private forums for some warez and xxx pics but I got rid of that. What I do run is a small time football poll. Bout all I can handle working full time and going to college full time. www.flyinghammer.net

correct me if i'm wrong, but with this feature, you can run a free board and offer additional benefits to paid members.

for example, another board i go on (non-adult) offers the ability to upload attachments, larger avatars, close your own threads, edit your posts without the "Last edited" showing, access to the private forum, double the PM space, custom user titles and username changes for $25 CDN a year.

Yes, you can specify certain features and/or forums as subscription only.
