I wonder if anyone can point any inaccuracies with that text.
The matter is too complicated for regular people to understand, they don't even know how money works in the world.
Seems to me that US had to invade Iraq to stay a step ahead of EU. But it really is bad when you need to resort to invasions to prevent your currency from collapsing.
We went to war with Iraq because they're brown. Americans don't like brown people.
I'll quote the great George Carlin, "America's motto: If you're brown, you're going down, That's our hobby now. But it's also our new job in the world: bombing brown people. Iraq, Panama, Grenada, Libya. Also Sudan, and now Afghanistan, and tomorrow, Iraq again, and maybe Syria, Sudan (for a second time)"
Back in 1973, OPEC countries quadrupled the price of their oil and tied it to the U.S. dollar. The dollar reigned supreme as the world?s de facto reserve currency.
Many believe that deeper reasons for the U.S. attack on Iraq were its decision in 1999 to require payments for its oil for food program in euros.
I don't mind my country(USA) dominating the world and making my pockets fatter.
I just hate the approach President Bush took. The whole thing could have been done covertly with assinations and pychological warfare with the world by our side instead of against us.

The war was a long time coming. It should have happened under the Clinton administration, but he was a pussy. If you don't believe Clinton was a pussy, why didn't he take Bin Laden when he was offered? We could have easily locked him up forever in connection to the embassy bombing, Marine barracks bombing and the bombing of the USS Cole.
The UN wrote 17 resolutions over a period of about 12 years that all more or less said "comply or else we'll kick your ass." Of course, the UN never did kick Saddam's when they said they would, they just kept saying "comply or else we'll kick your ass." Those of you who have children know that if you don't back up your threats, they're empty and the child will walk all over you. That's what Saddam did. He knew the threats were empty, so he kept doing what he wanted, throwing out inspectors, making them wait at the front door for hours while things were taken out the back and shooting at our aircraft during a time of "cease fire". That last one was enough for war, let alone all the other stuff. I was there being shot at when we were under a time of "cease fire". I don't like being shot at, especially since we weren't supposed to be fighting.
I would rather us have not been in the middle east at all, but since we're there, our hand was practically forced to kick Saddam's ass. Everyone in the world agreed with that until Bush said it, proof of partisan politics.

There was no real reason to go to war in Iraq, if Iraq didn't have the world's second largest oil field, it would be a paragraph footnote in the history books.
As it stands our military is completely overstretched, for instance the Chinese are sending troops in Haiti to 'support' peacekeeping operations there.
