Does anyone have a web statistics site they like to visit to find out what the most commonly used screen resolution is these days.
I am having an internal debate with some people I work with. |

1024x768 is most common but many are still using 800x600 maybe because they don't like to change standart settings or whatever.
In percents 800x600 is always somewhere between 5-30%.Depending on the sites. |

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
Scroll down to Display Resolution...as of most recent, 800x600 is only 35% of users |

i think that many pleople with 800 has cheap and small monitors. so try to make sites for 1024 or bigger resolions surfers. they have better monitors, so they have more moneys.

Just because it's a 'resource for developers' does not make it accurate. May be that it is pretty close but then I mearly questioned the accuracy of it. It could be within a couple of percent or miles out but without a source of data from a more general audience it's hard to tell. Certainly the browser statistics from that site more than proved that it is often heavily biased. A little tip for you - just because something's published on the Internet does not make it true or accurate (or the opposite for that matter). |

THe only reason people use 800x600 is because they dont want there eyes to go bad when reading stuff on the net. In 1024 everything is so small and you have to strain your eyes, which in the long run will fuck your vision!
