Slang you didn't understand but used anyway

all the jew comments made me realize something... i just realized that i used the term 'to jew someone' for years not even having a clue that it was a recial comment - i thought it was an actual term/word and never associated it with jewish people at all but just something related to a transaction where someone got the better of someone else and was pissed about it.

any other terms/words you use that one day you suddenly realized were racist and had no idea of the racial issue around them when you used them?

This dog, is dog, a dog, good dog, way dog, to dog, keep dog, an dog, idiot dog, busy dog, for dog, 20 dog, seconds dog!

Now read without the word dog.

i dont assume somebody is a bigot when they use the 'jew somebody down' to get a cheaper price. people are products of their enviroment, lots of people use that phrase and don't really understand it to be a bigoted term because they've grown up hearing their parents and others say it.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Indian giver was popular as a kid, that was what you called someone who gave you something then took it back...however we never really understood it's full meaning...most of us kids just assumed that it meant Indians weren't good at giving gifts...however it was truly a reflection on the white government who kept giving Indians land etc and then taking it away.

Still I doubt Indians want their race to be used in such a way.

it was a reflection on how the native americans viewed property ownership - which is different than how we view property in our society today
