Geoff Tate and Scott Rockenfeld of Queensryche made a trip to the Burning Man. They then composed an entire CD abut their personal experiences there. It's called "Tribe" and has a song titled "Burning Man." It's a very cool CD. Grab a copy.

The temple is different each year. The one in the pics is burned and gone forever. The overall theme of Burning Man is that everything is transitory. Many people have been shocked that I burned my grandpa's bible. But he, more than most, understands the transitory nature of life.

My friends have been asking me to go since sometime in the latter part of the 90's. Everytime I see the pics and hear the stories I can't believe I missed it yet again.

Hal, these pics are very beautiful and inspiring. Although I can't say that I truly understand Burning Man, it does appear to be very interesting and emotional. Being able to let go of material things and all of the baggage they carry with them is extremely difficult for most people. I would be interested in going one time to see and experience the event.

BTW, I admire the fact that you are so comfortable with yourself that you can proudly wear pink. I wish I had that kind of courage.
