My mom got her purse stolen....

today while she was at work. They broke out the back window of her car and stole her purse and cell phone. Now they have my address and a spare key to my car Plus I guess they have already been charging shit up on her credit cards, they are now canceled. My uncle's address was also in there and someone showed up at his house today and seemed very surprised to see someone home and he said he had never seen them before. So now I am sitting here afraid to go to sleep because someone might steal my car

O yeah I forgot the question. Would home owners insurance cover it if my car got stolen? I wasnt sure.

Yeah we reported it but it was probably just a random crime. She left her purse in the back seat and covered it up but I guess her phone was just sitting there so they probably just went in for that and got the purse as a bonus.

No forced entry on the car may be an excuse they give you for their crap. Stick to your guns and they should pay you out if the car is stolen.

lol. yeah I was thinking that my self, but I dont really want to have a loaded weapon right now, because I think if I caught them stealing my car I would shoot them and I think that would be a crime on my part. I'm really not trying to sound condescending... but this is the exact reason I don't carry a purse... and I do not leave *anything* in my car.

I am sorry to hear that she/you had all that stolen; hopefully, they will find the bastards soon.

I got a rifle but no ammo so that wont work. otherwise

You are 100% right its not a good idea to leave stuff like that in the car. If I had known she was doing that I would have told her not to or to at least put it in the trunk.

No video cameras in the parking lot. She is a nurse and I guess on the weekends the employee parking lot(has cameras) is closed, so all the employees have to park in the normal parking garage( no cameras).

Totally sucks dude...

I was getting gas about a month ago- walked in to pay and when I came out someone had smashed my passenger window in and stole my purse.

I was on the phone with the cops right away but it still took them 45 mintues to show up and still haven't done anything about it.

My advise. Change your schedule - park in different places..... Notify credit reporting of possible identity theft.

Keep and eye on your mail as well .....

Same goes for you mom and uncle, and don't expect much help from your local PD....

Sucks, just goto the cardealer, and ask for replacement of the locks..That is what I would do at least.

Also, this is again a good reason for not carrying addresses with you. I used to have a spare key in my purse. Then I thought, hmm what if I lose my purse(or stolen),,,,So I removed the spare key..
