Thinking the industry is going to be shut down in just one year is way off the wall. Furthermore I think it is posted more for a general reaction to get him a prize or somethin..

But on a serious note, with the changing administration things will more than likely change making things difficult. High profile challanges like the one R Telecom went through may at this moment be a thing of the past, but it may also be the start of things to come. This is a time we must all be careful and encourage others to be careful because we really are all in this together.

I say that it is better to band together than give up the ghost. Nothing will die unless WE say it has to die.

On the other board I mentioned how they are going to take a lot of us small-timers out to make a name for themselves and then rest on their laurels until the next election year.

Perfect example of this strategy is the War on Drugs. 100's of thousands of drug-related arrests and there are MORE drugs on the streets today than there were before this so-called war. Hmmm.... so the smaller dealers and a whole bunch of users got popped, but the bigger fish are still out there importing and selling the goodies.

Oh sure, they made it harder for the bigger fish to do business, but they didn't shut them down, now did they. All they did was generate a few numbers to announce on TV so it looked like they kept their promise(s). We didn't hear anything else about this so-called war until the next elections rolled around.

As a smaller fish in this pornographic ocean I am quite afraid of what Big Brother Bush and his cronies have in store for us all, but I'm gonna' keep on slingin' porn straight through to the end no matter what and I really hope others of you will be by my side.... If only for the principle of the matter: freedom of speech/expression/etc, and not just because there's money to be made.

But I do like money, so if anyone has any extra lying around that they aren't using, my home address is......

In regards to another post above I read, I imagine even though one got hosted in another country, the fact would remain you are still a US citizen, and the laws of your country would apply to you.

As for eradication, I would think impossible, the population is soo high in the US and the revenues generated are soooo great that I just can't see it happening.

Regulating is probably the most they could do, the freepages are so full of copyright violaters that regulating will be appreciated by a large number of people. And the Pay-Sites will hopefully take on lots of more $$$.

How many people buy, or even can buy a license for images when it is a site on a free server.

I HATE hearing about the government's ideas and plans to get rid of porn on the internet.

Ok, here's my idea that could save them MILLIONS of dollars and a LOT of work. Why not have them put their fat fucking heads together and whip up the most advanced piece of porn blocking software out there, then force all of the browser makers to add it to their browsers, THEN add a featured to it, so adults could pop in a password to turn off the filters. OR instead of that, just offer it to people for free.

The thing that REALLY gets me about all of this is that it should be the parents responsibility to keep kids out of the porn sites. If they don't bother monitoring it, then it shouldn't be our faults that they're surfing to our sites.

Be it older guys that want to relive their younger days by checking out teens, be it the mulitudes of basement trekkies who never get laid IRL that order in pizza 5 times a week and wince at the strange bright light up in the sky when they have to go outside for something , be it the 30,000 newbies coming online every day and the 1st thing they do is comb the net for--you guessed it, PORN, or be it the 20 or 30 million-or-so office workers that surf porn on their breaks (or not) and see something that REALLY catches their eye, so later when they get home they go back to that site and join it....... on and on porn goes, where it stops, nobody knows.

My thinking is, European nations have been quite relaxed about pornography, nudity and sex in general for how long now...decades? Centuries? Well, are Europeans any less horny because of what some would call "long-term overexposure"? I think not (I know of more than a few paysites that have a large % of their members hailing from Europe), and now that porn is much more accessible to 90% of the entire world, why would it ever go away in one year, or 5 or 20 years? People will always be horny, and there will always be a wealth of horny people with CC's and E-cheques that want instant gratification. There may be untold thousands of webmasters tossing their lines in the water these days, but I'm confident that anyone with enough drive, skill and determination will always come out with some success in this industry. Sites with 10k, 20k, or 100k hits per day will always make money if managed correctly.

Just tone it down a notch on offering too much quality free shit and the industry will do fine for us for a long long time. I usually ignore the doomsayers, as there are so many that have announced the impending death of porn lately it's pathetic (and sort of amusing). Maybe they are hoping that their words of doom and destruction will discourage others from joining in and further flooding the market? Whatever.

Like most of you I do disagree with this topic, but I think we are slightly off course.

Porn will be around forever sure, but will the internet side always be as profitable? It has already
been on the decline for well over a year (overall).

even world wide would the figure be that high, and that's including internet and video.

We must all take an active role in protecting ourselves and our industry. Ash*****'s role in cleaning
up the porn biz, has the potential to walk all over americans precious constitutional rights. Was
anyone aware that one of the things he has deemed obscene was interracial sex?!? Where is the
ACLU?!?

I don't think fleeing to other countries is not necessarily the answer either, don't think the long arm of the US
won't come after you if it wants to...
The United States often sets a precedent for the rest of the world, don't be naive in thinking that what
happens in the US only effects those that live there.

I am Canadian, THANK GOD, however, my husband is american. We do live in Canada, but by no
means are we just leaving it at that.
What is frightening to us is not just loss of income and career, but that we
may be prosecuted by some religious fanatic that deems dancing a sin.

I am sure I have left many valuable points out and there is always more to be said on the topic, but I must get back to work protecting the fruits of my husbands labour against the evils of government and religion.
