I agree... this was very close to home to me when it ripped at my kids the way it did. Having to explain to them why people kill people was extremely tough.

I am fascinated with serial killers for this reason you mentioned here. What gets ina persons head to just go killing people, and what gives them their base on who to kill and why.. and so on and so forth. It just baffles me sometimes, and when this hit, it was something that hit my kids as well.. so it just got into me more and more. I don't get why people do this to people, and then when you read about them, friends and family say how nice they were/are and so on.... it just freaks me the hell out, is all.

I am rude, and can be about as vile and short tempered as they come, but I could never in my wildest dreams imagine ever killing anyone for sport or otherwise, one of my kids lives would have to be in immediate danger to bring me to such an act.

Personally, I don't care if 20 different people start 20 different threads in paying their respects today.

I can image that. I am happy that I don't have kids for that reason. I can't think of how hard it must be to have to explain them why people are killing other people just because of hate! And god knows how much hate there is nowadays.

I've red an artikel about research on serialkillers and it is fascinating how they try to find out what causes people like that to start killing and I hope they find out why that happends one day so they can make sure that it happends less often then it does now. I would sugest that they give all people in the world on powerfull places a dose of that cure then as well :winkwink:

They have done studies on them and in most cases, it is a malfunction in the front part of their brains, I can't remember now exactly what section, but it was in the front. I could probably find it in 10 minutes. I have studied them and watched documentaries on them. I've always been fascinated with them, but since I became a parent, it got worse because I never want my kids to have such problems in their lives that they resport to something like this. I don't protect them from the realities of the world, but I also try and be here for them to try my best to explain things to the best of my ability to them.

During the time of 9/11, my eyes were glued to the news channel for months. I just couldn't get over the number of lives that were taken and how the families of lost ones must have felt. Tam's story does bring back the sad memories and prayers that went out to the victims and their families.
