My ENTIRE ICQ contact list is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woke up this morning, loaded icq and my entire contact list is gone.

Poof...

GONE.

ICQ has reached its maximum database threshold, untill we purge all of the unused ICQ numbers ICQ will be down. We expect this tech issue to be resolved by monday September 13.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled ICQ and my contacts are back, that sounds like the solution.

re-size the ICQ box in and out a little bit. should pop back on.

works for me at least.....good luck hun.

Did you reload the lite or the pro version??

I had lite.. Uninstalled it. Then went to re-install lite again..

And im still down,.

Replaced icq lite with trilian pro, using same icq number and everything is back working. All icq contacts restored through trillian ..

I finally got mine to work without the reinstall.

I shut down ICQ by clicking 'Main'...and then shut down, then tried to open it again. I have mine set up to use a password to open it. I then, instead of typing my password, I clicked 'Settings', I clicked auto configure... and a console popped saying ICQ found a server... then I just clicked ok. Then I typed my password and voila it works.

This is not to say I found a cure... but it worked for me.

Give this a try.

what I did was simply.. shut down ICQ... and reconnect.. and got my list back...

Yesterday my icq was acting like a fool. It really pissed me off some 0406 error and then I tried to log in too many times. What's really sick is that I can log in as someone else just fine but my icq number wont log in.

I had major trouble w/ ICQ a couple of weeks ago - wasn't able to login. Had to reinstall it, but it's all ok w/ my contact list... but my history gone as well

It doesn't matter what client you use to connect to the ICQ server, it is still going to have problems. The contact list is stored on the server itself now, so we will just have to wait until they can resolve the issue. Soon hopefully. Unless of course, someone has others servers that we can connect to, now that might solve the prolem too!
