How long does it take to start getting google adwords traffic...

after you started a campaign?

I recently started a campaign for pretty rare keywords..
maybe this could be why I'm not getting any uniques yet...

I'd say couple of months.
And btw, google image results seem to be random (different pictures come up for every new search)

12-24 hours will give you some indication of traffic.
It can take a couple days to be a clear indication of regular traffic, also factors such as cost per click and your daily budget affects the amount your ad will be shown, so yuu might want to play with them in the future to increase results.

Google traffic comes right away pretty much...next hour or couple of hours. At least, the ad is displayed right away.

Problem is, if you choose a high impression keyword and no one clicks on your ad or you get lots of tire kickers. On the other hand, if you choose a low impression ad it might only get a click a day or even less.

They need to approve you, too. So it may take a few hours. I never have to wait more than 2 or so.

well it's been around 48 hours I think, and not a SINGLE hit yet..

I think I chose over targeteded keywords, but the adwords tool told me I should get a few hits per day

Is the ad even showing up? Are you talking impression? or click? I had some "suspended" for not following all their rules and had to fix them. Also, they really haven't liked copyrighted terms or sometimes even the "hint" of possibly copyrighted terms.

I can't check if the ad is showing up, because I target US and western european traffic and I live in Israel.. If you're from US, western europe or australia, hit me up if you have a moment: 162136565

If theres a "flagged" word in your ad it takes longer for human review (used to anyway). If you keep dirty words out, then it's pretty fast. Which aint easy for porn, lol.

its hand review sometimes the ad is not properly laid out. Like one extra comma or something.

But to be perfectly honest with you, your much better off spending your time getting ranked on the free side then using adwords... ( and its much cheaper )

Its not hard to make a few bucks, but for adult market its rather useless , unless you plan on using lots and lots and lots of keywords , and checking them all the time..
