Possible solution to virus and trojan

Hi,

I posted this on ARS forum, might as well you see it too. I just saw this free product that i think is interesting:

https://www.prevx.com/homeoffice/pre.../prevxhome.htm

I got it home, and it stopped some crap that goes over the firewall and the Norton, today...so i was really impress. And it use a very different technic to filter everything, and i must say, i think we are looking at the future with this one.

Take a look and try it if you want.

There already virus for the mac and a couple of hackers for it, especially OS 9.0 and up.

The nice thing that software does, is that it doesn't target the virus or trajan, but the main areas in a system where they will attack. From the software list it protects and watch:

-batch and script files in the Windows directory and key directories below
- memory buffer overflow
-applet,dll,driver modification
- protection of Browser Helper Objects, settings, toolbars, searching
-registry run-key,shell command
-screen saver and finally some key files for windows like win.ini

I saw some slow down on the connection and browser operations in cunjunction with Kerio firewall, but it did not see it with zonealarm. So i have this software + zonealarm + Norton, and that combinason seems to work well.

I will do a research about it. I have a second hard drive with only a couple of things on it. Maybe it would be time to use an optionnal system.

Linux Suse looks a lot like a Mac OS 10 interface. I find it interesting and will try the free version. Doesn't cost much too...Thanks for the tip.
