Has anyone used this webserver software? It is supposed to be real fast and handle more users than Apache.

Cant say I have used it. Apache is solid enough for me anyway,

It is faster than Apache but doesn't have mod_rewrite and all the other Apache features

Its a very quick server if you want to use it just for serving images.

its great, but when i was using it it wasnt stable at all (~1 yr ago)

ohh, I thought when they meant static they meant html and image files and not php files. I didn't know that static meant that it can only serve images. I guess you have to use it in conjuction with another webserver like Apache then.
