Kill the first one that shares thier pass and the rest will understand that you are serious

I cant recomend this enough. Having this will do two things, one stop sharing, two generate lots of traffic to trade with, if you play the password sites right.

Pennywize was just OK for us for stopping sharing but if you have a brute force hacking problem this is way more advanced to deal with that problem:

NO! NO! NO! I had HORRIBLE experiences with PW. PW would shut down abused passwords but could do nothing about stopping them from being hacked. My BW was ALWAYS over the limit with PW. When I switched to STRONGBOX, my BW dropped in half. (And I use a LOT of BW).

I forgot to say thanks to $pikes and boobmaster for the props
on Strongbox. I spend many hours each day in research and
development for Strongbox and have been doing so for
several years now, so it's really great to hear that it's
been so helpful for so many people.

penny is crap, use strongbox and if you will have good protected your htpasswd and database, you will have no more problems with password trading. do not listen to pennywize, you need just few proxies and hackers are back again ;)

We tried, Iprot, PW, StrongBox, & Phantom Frog.

By far the best we've used to date is Phantom Frog, Strong Box is a VERY close 2nd, and wouldn't hesitate to use either. PennyWise is just as useless as tits on a boar hog, and IProt is just, well........

Since the thread was bumped and is receiving a new
audience, I wanted to reinforce the notion that
IP counting systems (like Pennywise and ProxyPass)
should be considered as outdated technology
especially since 3 years have gone by. That's
a common objective we have.

Furthermore, webmasters should be made aware of all
their current options. After all, I only joined Phantom
Frog one year ago and have to make up for lost time.
