Hosting Companies Outside FL...

I have a datacenter in Orlando FL and am in need of quotes to host a backup of our entire location outside the state of FL.

Due to recent events (hurricanes) we have found that the amount of uptime we can handle is not enough for our clients. We current hae battery backup as well as generators but only have about 60 hours without getting tanks refilled.

Our datacenter has been on backup power since 6:00am Sunday morning and we have been told by the gas company they may not be able to make a delivery before Thursday or Friday.

Our clients consist of airlines from around the world and need 24/7 uptime. We currently are using 8 full T1's and are almost at capacity for them. We also have 6 roll over in case one or more would go down.

I would require a similar configuration. I doubt I can find a host that can provide GDS connectivity so I will not even ask that as a requirement.

I am in need of quotes to host mainstream web applications (asp & asp.net) as well as custom client server applications.

Minimum Requirements:

We would need (at minimum)
14 Webservers running Win2003 Enterprise or Web Edition.
11 Oracle 9i Database servers.
1 Win2k Server running Pervasive SQL2000 (legacy app)
3 Email servers at least 1 MS Exchange.
24 Citrix Metaframe XP Servers (on Win2k or 2003)
12 WinNT/2k/2003 Utility servers for automated apps.
Load balancing is a must on both the Citrix Servers and Web Servers.

The above configuration would give us the minimum we would need to host our current functions for our clients.

I am not sure if anyone from this board can help with this but if anyone knows of a company OUTSIDE FL in a secure facility please let me know. ICQ (303960730) or email webmaster @ jldenterprises dot com or post here.

Thanks.

Try fuel cells and stock up on the propane.

Fuel cell generators...hmmm please provide link.

Due to the location of our facility compared to the International Airport we have the maximum amount stored at our site. We do not have any Natural gas near our location. Diesel is not allowed due to zoning so Propane was our only choice.

Any serious reply are welcomed.

Hit me up on icq at 36837470 we have a secure facility in NYC we were up last year when the power went out on the eastern seaboard and during 9/11 when power was cut off to a lot of downtown the datacenter was up as fuel was trucked in.

I think the one thing you may take away from events today is to have the fueling contracts with your propane dealer worked out in advance, perhaps have a stock pile set aside so that you dont have to wait so long. You gotta figure that the majority of times that you will have to rely on backup generators it will be a large disaster so alot of other users may need it as well, if supply is what's delaying the delivery to the end of the week.

To let people know supply is not the problem but access to the facility is. The area where our datacenter is sustain 90+mph winds for more than 13 hours. Even those of us close to the location are unable to get to the facility do to the massive amounts of damage from these last 2 hurricanes. If they get things cleared so that vehicles can get to the facility then we will not have a problem.

If you have not seen the weather outlook for this next weekend here we have the possibility of another hurricane this next weekend.

And for all you hydrogen people. If you are serious and know of such a device that is available then please provide a link and not just one to google or another search/research site.

Also please do NOT post wind power generators or the like.

Thanks.
