Fuck that thing .. it fucks up everything ... i will not download that shit at all.... i would rather live with annoying crap than to have my system all fucked up ... it is a total beta release and for some of you that do not know it does automatic popup blocking that is not really cool ...

No problems at all and I finally seem to have loaded enough stuff on my PC to deal with all the current crop of popups and other exploits. It is great to be surfing "clean" again...

No, SP2 isn't beta still, it is a critical update.

I only had a minor problem with installing it b/c I had alcolhol 120% installed, so it couldn't backup my cdrom driver. Told it to skip that, and update went fine. I think it has a lot of annoyances in it, but the popup blocker is a lot better than google toolbar's.

Downloaded it, installed in one of my computers and noticed a bit of a lag.

Will wait a couple of more weeks to decide if I install it in the other 2.

It lags when you first update it. Even on my old computer it's not any slower now than it was before now. I updated that one 3 days ago.

Well, SP2 totally fucked up my computer. It wouldn't even boot into windows it would stall at agp440.sys, then at mup.sys. According to other forums this is not just one here and one there instance, it is actually happening to quite a few people. I had to reinstall windows, and then reinstall all my fucking apps!

Yeah you need a faster system. It's working on my 3.4 Ghz computer. Only some of my program icons are fucked up.

I can feel your pain. Yesterday it took me all night long to fix the shit on some other computers here.

I one problem, windows firewall had 2 turn it off, none of my FTP programs would work. Sure it's just a setting, maybe one I'll into it.

Other wise it works great.

man there sure seems to be a range of opinions on this new SP.... i havent tried it yet, but really dont ant to take the risk that i would then be one of the ppl bagging it and having to fuck around fixing shit...

is there any word from microsoft on this? or do they also have the opinion that if its not working then we are to blame?

ps. i spoke to my local comp store who have to do alot of installing etc. and they reckon that the most problems occurred when trying to install sp2 over a system already running with sp1... whereas they had less problems when they integrated sp2 with the windows installation from scratch...

well the majority of surfers that don't have firewalls need this update. Not the best firewalls but better than nothing. Also tells the dumbfucks they need anti-virus too if they don't have it which they probally don't.

to all the people who say that SP2 is running fine and hasnt fucked up their systems... did you install it from a clean version of windows or did you install it over top of SP1 with all of your other apps present etc.? ie. did you install it after a format?

okay... well from a security point of view (if you are running norton anti and firewall) should you upgrade to SP2 or are you fine running with sp1 and all the critical updates for it?

cool... but how do you know when it isnt working fine then... when someone discovers a flaw that is in sp1 but has been fixed in sp2 (and microsoft assumes that people should be using sp2 so they dont need to patch the flaw in sp1?) or doesnt it work like that??

I have an AMD machine and installed SP2 over top SP1 with no problems at all. I did have Mcafee Security prior to SP2 and when prompted chose Mcafee as my default security center therefore bypassing Windows firewall and such.

I installed SP2 about 2 weeks ago and so far, no complaints. I'm not running it on an ass kicking system either. I haven't noticed any lag at all, to be honest.

I absolutely love surfing without pop-ups though. The pop-up blocker rocks!
