Are your signups suffering lately? SP2 may be to blame...

I installed SP2 about a week ago. As you all know it offers all kinds of "security measures".

When I clicked an Ifriends link earlier today that was https: I was warned that there were problems with the sites security certificates.

Soon after I went to an https: page on party poker. Same thing.

I would imagine that if 2 huge companies are throwing up errors that a lot of small ones are.

SP2 can suck my dick along with the new SE filtering everywhere.

And they are cookie based so even if you change it you can get duped later. I know I've pulled some b/s results several times already.

where did you get it at party poker?

I get a popup block on the front page, and an autodownload block
on the Play Now page.

no problems on the https My Account page though.

I see it as evolution. Sooner or later something always comes along that requires one to change the way they're doing things or change what they're doing altogether. Else they get left behind.

True. Good thing I stopped eating burgers and meat for that matter. Now, if he moved up in this world and is now a waiter at C'abrea, I would be worried about the balsamic vinegraitte sauce.

And that doesn't seem to be a problem? My date is set to the correct date, that's the point. Something is funky with security certs. and the only time I noticed any of it was after SP2.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it, just means change is needed. I prefered it when everything was on autopilot.

My stuff comes up in searches of any moderation usually. It annoys me when it comes back on and I have to go mess with the filter just to see what I was looking for though.

Its more or less the sandboxing phenomenon that's irritating me. New stuff can't get in easily, even with some PR7's pointing to them. Really irritating.

Any ideas as to why google would choose to start filtering searches? Do you believe this move is better for them in the long term? Interesting how they make this change less than a month after their stock goes public.

I have a feeling they put some sort of filter to prevent refspam and that would affect one of my primary submission methods. It's an easy filter for them to apply and I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner. As for the long run, I can't tell if its good or not. I'm honestly just seeing different spam based pages all over the place still so its not that great. I think this latest update just hit up one of my primary submission methods so that's why I was affected so much.

Good thread, I'm also afraid that SP2 may have some negative impact on SignUps, may it due to lost cookies or whatever, but as soon as I hear that a new update has rised security levels I'm always curios about if my affiliate codes are still passed along and tracked as they should.
I'm not a programer, so I'm just guessing around here, but it would be great if somebody could enlighten me how exactly affiliate tracking methods work and if they could be negativly affected by recent or upcomming Updates.
And it would also be interesting to hear how the big fishes like CCBill, IBill and affiliate programs are preparing??
