Oh this is going to be fun. If it takes a bit more of a northerly turn, Tennessee won't feel but a slight breeze. If it keeps coming like NOAA thinks it's going to come, Tennessee will get some gnarly weather too.

I hope everyone takes this seriously and gets to safety.

very close, Charley was recorded with top sustained winds of 145 mph, while this one (Frances) has already reached 140 mph and expected to raise the bar once it hits land.

Double hurricane strike would be worst in a century

looks like 300,000 residents in coastal areas of Palm Beach County were ordered to evacuate starting 2 p.m. Thursday.

What's the prognosis for Jacksonville getting hit with any major damage right now?

According to NOAA, the prognosis for Jacksonville getting hit is good.

Keep an eye on this thing for the next coupla days. You should know in about 24 hours how close it will come to Jacksonville. It may just take a more northerly swing and miss Jacksonville altoghether. Let's hope.

I hope that fucker comes up to the NYC area.. Whenever we get 'canes in the carolinas or close to the metro area, surfing at the Jersey and Long Island shores are AMAZING! Saves me a trip to the west coast for great surf.

Hurricane Frances is expected Strike Florida Friday, and if you are near the visinity of South Florida to South Carolina, i say you evacuate to a much safer grounds.

It getting windy now and my dog is acting nervous. Same way he was before the '94 Northridge Earthquake. Animals can sense the air pressure changes and I think are just intuitive about impending events.

Getting all ready for this one. Say prayers for all the Florida, Georgia, and Carolina webmasters. This is going to be nastier than anything in long time.

We still have a chance if the high pressure ridge weakens that it will steer northward instead of to the west, but so far it hasn't.

That's where I grew up

They just said on the Atlanta news that it's so big even we'll get rain from it.

Like I said, I have a place that's free to anyone needing a safe haven from this thing.

Tennessee is expecting rain and wind from this as well unless it tuns northward. things could get ugly here for Labor Day and Tuesday.
