Oh yeah.... if you're a redneck bigot with no tolerance for other cultures, you probably wont like either city. White people are in the minority, esp in Vancouver. Unlike the US, which has a 'melting pot' mentality where everyone is encouraged to adopt the American culture, Canadian is multicultural, and everyone is encouraged to keep their own national identity. That's why Canada doesn't have a national identity besides hockey and french fries with vinegar on them. Mmmmmm..... french fries.....

Hi Ron, I spent some time in Vancouver during my time at SEG. Really nice city, there used to be a big homeless problem. I did hear that it has improved a lot over the past few years. Vancouver all the way.

To the guy who said he is a snob and didnt want to live in vancouver burbs... but then moved to 55 mins north of toronto to get more land for $300k then anywhere in greater vancouver...

I just gotta ask, what did you get for $300k out there?

I am in port moody, its a 15 min drive to downtown at night, 20 mins during the day and for $290k I got a 2700 sq foot house with a 188' x 66' yard... with a view of the inlet and mountains...

I also have a condo downtown on the 12th floor which cost only $230k.... although I did buy that 4 years ago now.

I love Vancouver and the lower mainland personally. The variety of people really make this city great.

I just came back from Toronto... anyone who tries to tell you that Toronto is cleaner then Vancouver is lying or blind.

We have east hastings, Toronto has yonge st. Both streets are dirty and full of bums and people I dont like to walk past.

Toronto makes me think of NYC - but without the polish, charm and authenticity that NYC has. Toronto just has the rough edges and fast pace.

Personally, I have been to Toronto once and unless there is some business reason for me to go back, I will never return.

Montreal on the other hand, now that was a beautiful city full of really nice people - even though I cant speak french.

I'm insulted anyone would try to compare "Terranna" to Vancouver.

I love this city, wouldn't want to live anywhere else

Vancouver is a great place to live its where I am planning on moving someday soon.
If this winter here is as bad as the summer has been then it will be much sooner

I'll take a little bit of rain over snow and freezing cold any day

A lot depends on your lifestyle...are you married with children? Are you childless and want to go out clubbing every night? Are you outdoorsy and want go skiing and kayaking?

There are some amazing places to live here outside of the city if you're looking for something a little slower paced, cheaper too. Both Toronto and Vancouver have the highest realestate prices in Canada, but if you're willing to go outside of the city a little you can get some amazing property for a reasonable price.

Besides, nothing beats being near the ocean.
